Adding Deluxe or Protected Registration to Your Domain Names

If you want to update the registration type for domain names you already own, you can apply Deluxe or Protected Registration to them.

NOTE: These services are not available for all domain names. If we offer these services for your domain's extension, the service displays and is selectable using these instructions.

To Add Deluxe or Protected Registration to Your Domain Names

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Manage Domains.
  3. Select the domain name(s) you want to modify.
  4. Click Upgrade.
  5. Click on one of the following:
    • Protection — Protected Registration includes Domain Ownership Protection, Private Registration and Business Registration, which keeps your domain locked and secured, lists your business information in the Whois database and keeps your personal information private.
    • Deluxe — Deluxe Registration includes private and business registration, which lists your business information in the Whois database and keeps your personal information private.
  6. Click Add and, then select one of the following:
    • Create account — If you do not have an account, we create a Domains By Proxy® account for you. We send the user name and password in an email message after creating your account. Please retain this information for future reference!
    • Use existing account — If you already have an account with Domains By Proxy, enter your user ID and password for the account.
  7. If you agree to the Domain Name Proxy Agreement, select I have read the Domain Name Proxy Agreement.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click Checkout and then continue through the checkout process.
